It can house very large grills comfortably, and includes handy shelves on the side, perfect for resting your seasoning, crockery or food to be cooked (or a beer if it’s hot!). The Smoke Vent on the top serves a double purpose – first it allows smoke out from the canopy so it’s a more pleasant cooking environment, and it also provides a release to protect against strong gusts of wind. The canopy roofing is strong 180gsm polyester with a fire retardant treatment to protect you and your property. Love cooking outdoors but can’t always rely on the weather? I really love this canopy. It fits perfectly over my grill BUt I had to buy an entirety new frame & canopy in order to replace the canopy I had. I only needed the fabric part, but you can’t buy a replacement! Mine is screwed into my trex decking & the frame has held up great. The canopy got shredded in high winds. I really wish I could have gotten just a canopy replacement, but all the newer canopies are 5x8, not 4x8 like this one. Keep that in mind if you plan to have it for a long period of time. Mine is 5 years old.The frame is sturdy enough against normal use but the fabric covering lasted only 1 season before ripping and falling apart.I really like this bbq canopy. It was relatively easy to assemble. I just wish they sold a replacement canopy. We bolted ours down into the concrete so having to fully replace it was not ideal. Since it is 4x8, other replacement canopies don't fit.Easy to assemble, pretty sturdy. After assembly I noticed one of the support poles was damaged. Was not bad enough to disassemble and send back, but feels like I bought scratch and dent merchandise without any adjustment in costThis item is not available for Prime 2-day shipping. I contacted the seller beforehand and asked if ordered, how long it would take to get to me. They advised me they would get it in the mail that day, and should have it in 2 days. Exactly that happened! (and their response time was less than an hour).Assembly -- If you're like me, I did not have any help putting this together. I read multiple reviews that said you NEED 2 people to put this together. Boy were they right! The assembly overall is pretty straight forward (picture instructions -- I think 4 or 5 steps). Even though the assembly was simple, the different things you have to do to attach base poles, shelves, brackets, etc, are DEFINITELY meant for 2 people. Can it be done by yourself?... yes... would I recommend anyone go through what I did?... absolutely not! Just get a buddy to help you - trust me!For the price, this thing is a steal!!! It looks so nice on my patio, and really makes a statement. I did not anchor it into the ground using the provided ground spikes (or by drilling), instead I used the sandbags that were recommended with this order (4 black velcro bags for $15) and I filled them with sand and attached them to each of the 4 posts -- confident it will not blow anywhere.I do not know how the canopy top will hold up if you keep it up all season with constant exposure to the weather -- BUT again, for the price, I am fully expecting to need to replace it next season (or maybe after 2 seasons) which they do sell separately.I recommend not only because I like the product, but because the seller is truly dedicated to making the customer happy. This item received quickly, well packed and undamaged. As per other reviews, the assembly instructions are illustrations only - it does take time but if you study them carefully, organize the various screws and take your time it's not rocket science to assemble. I managed to get it together in about 2 hours and didn't have to un-assemble anything along the way. It is definitely better to have 2 folks if possible but I managed by myself with a couple of saw horses. Please note there are NO EXTRA screws, nuts or washers - recommend getting a few in advance as I inevitably ended up dropping a few. Things you will need not mentioned: ladder, level, and get a socket wrench (the cheap tool they put in the box will take you forever). It is aluminum so with a socket wrench don't tighten too much or the poles will pull in. Top went on tightly - just be careful and you can get it on without ripping it. I bought a backup top as I live in FL and doubt the one included will last more than a year or two. I purchased this one in particular because many are 5x8 and that was too big for my space - 4x8 is much better!Very light so recommend screwing down or concrete "boots". A little disconcerting when it says 'take down in rain or wind' - with 2 hour assembly time that's not going to happen so we will see. You can take the canvas off in high wind storms. For the money this is a decent purchase - we will see how it stands up to weather.Never thought I'd actually buy one of these, but the more I thought about it - the more I wanted one. I couldn't believe how expensive these things were and I refused to pay $180 for one at Lowe's. This Palm Springs model attracted me with it's low price (lowest you'll find) and with the fact that it seemed to be not the cheapest in terms of quality. I love the top vent that allows for grill smoke to exit, and the two-tier design adds a nice classy touch. The gazebo arrived to my door in about three days and I put it together by myself in a couple hours, taking beer breaks now and then because it was blazingly hot. Can you assemble this yourself? Yeah probably. Is it fun? Hell no. If you have an extra set of hands around, ask for the help. Also, a ratchet with a 10mm socket and a 10mm box wrench will help you. The kit comes with their "one time use" wrench, which works, but the ratchet made it go faster. I also know my way around tools and have torn cars apart and put them back together so...judge my opinion with a touch of salt.Once assembled, the gazebo is pretty strong. The canvas portions went on easily and are nice and snug. I screwed it down to my wooden deck so it doesn't blow over. The same night, I grilled under it and it worked great. It provided a nice shelter and the side shelves were VERY handy. Today, it's raining and blowing and the gazebo is standing tall keeping my grill safe and dry.Only time will tell how well it holds up to the elements. But I'm confident I'll get a good 5 years out of it, and that'll be just fine with me.Will recommend to anyone to buy
