Our rack systems are built on a unique floating foundation that separates and distributes weight to the cab and to the bed maximizing structure and support. Utilizing a matrix of 3/16" steel pier-plates, base anchor footings, and 2" diameter steel columns, our system interconnects a framework that allow for "seismic" forces to be handled readily with its unique mechanical advantages. ARS is the only rack that features a "load bearing" front hoop without the need for additional support; this strength is the bedrock that allows our rack systems to withstand fore and aft thrust, side load forces, and prevents horizontal racking (the twisting/flexing out of a rigid or supportive state).
The front hoop columns are attached with 3/16" steel pier-plates that connect to 16 strong mounting points along with 2 additional fasteners at the front assembly of the Jeep body, then the pier plates are discretely covered with the factory cowl for a clean OE look. The rear hoop columns are attached with our 3/16" steel base anchors and flexural footings, that create an understructure connecting the bed of the Jeep to the hoop for the strongest attachment point. The flexural footings coupled to our 2” OD steel support columns through 2-part urethane bushings.
Roof trusses are made from strong 2” OD steel tube and are attached with CNC billet clamps to the fore and aft hoop columns. The roof trusses have been engineered with forward slopes to reduce outward forces on the cab mounted hoop columns; the rear facing billet clamps attach directly to the bed mounted rear hoop columns, where any thrust forces are dealt with utilizing our base anchored/flexural footings. The roof trusses are positioned low, as bowing is not an issue with the colossal strength, ensuring the lowest center of gravity possible when at capacity.
The addition of the Mod-Rak Stealth aluminum cargo platforms provide a sturdy location to strap containers and gear onto and ensure your items stay in place, while keeping your truck bed free.
