MASTERCANOPY Heavy Duty 8x8 Pop Up Canopy Tent with Sidewalls - Waterproof Outdoor Shelter for Camping, Beach, Parties & Events (Forest Green)

The canopy structure and fittings are made of good quality materials and the design is good. But, we used it for the first time this past weekend and many of the velcro straps that attach the fabric cover to the metal framework tore away from the cover in a mild wind. The velcro straps need to be reinforced at the attachment point.Easy to assemble nice canopy but the navy blue faded within a month of being up. I have another navy canopy (different brand) that’s been up 2 months longer and has not faded.This tent is very sturdy and has all the features I need as a year round farmers market vendor BUT it is not as tall as your typical tent...perfect for me but anyone over 5'6" or thereabouts had to duck a little to come in. This was with the legs extended to their longest position.Once inside, there is plenty of height but the fact that customers have to duck to come in is a bit... awkward sometimes.There are other sturdy tents out there. To be honest I would not buy this one again, but it's not bad enough for me to return it, only for me to recommend to others that they go elsewhere...Sturdy so far: set this up in the backyard (without attaching the side curtain walls) due to covid - it’s the way for us to have our kids get together with another kid in our yard outside and with masks & staying more than 6 feet apart.There have been quite strong winds during these couple of months, and yet this canopy has NOT failed, broken, snapped, or had the top fly off or rip.We did NOT tether it to the ground with the ropes that come with it, nor did we sandbag down the 4 legs with the bags that come with it - yet it has not collapsed or flown off with the strong winds.Set up is easy. Like unfolding an accordion. But it is infinitely easier with two people doing it, not one. Took maybe 4 minutes. Although I suppose a solo person could theoretically set this up by themselves. It’s pretty intuitive to set up, I googled a setup video for this brand to see how they did it, and it is easy to follow along.12’ x 12’ gives a lot more elbow room under the canopy to set up a meeting with social distance. And, more room for a sports team to huddle or stow gear out of the elements.In the Pacific Northwest- we get lots of rain - so far the canopy has not leaked. But, it sure is very thin material.It’s pretty heavy, but comes in a wheeled bag, it’s like a golf club bag - so you drag it around to the set up spot. It’s not too heavy you can’t solo lift it into a trunk.There are so many canopies on the market. Tough to know which to buy. Most have a couple of very bad reviews. Seems like you have to be mindful to buy quite reasonable quality if you expect it to not have a broken member or snap a crossbar. The commercial ones (not sold on amazon) are $1000. Way too much for residential use. The ‘cheap’ ones are $99, but if they break within a year, then they are the opposite of a bargain. This one seems to be in the sweet spot between being fairly heavy duty but not cost an arm and a leg.It comes with 4 sides, you can either put 1,2,3,4 or none up. Great flexibility.With sides, you get privacy as well as more protection from elements like strong sun or rain. You could change in it on the feild, etc.We got the black color as that material will hide the dirt and stains that it will get from falling leaves, being in muddy fields, dusty sandy winds at the beach, etc.Came as a full complete system. withstool some heave rain and winds.It is a sturdy little tent. I have my inflatable spa under it, for privacy.Easy to assemble! Sturdy and spacious.Overall, the product is exactly as pictured and was easy to assemble. The side walls are the correct size and fit fine; tent bag is sturdy quality; walls and canopy materials feels easy to clean.**One of the fasteners fell out when sliding it out of the bag; couldn't find the nut to screw it back in, but that's not a huge deal. We did have to tighten about half of the fasteners on the top of the tent structure before opening out.***I went ahead and gave the 5 stars instead of 4 because it's totally possibly that it was simply a loose fastener and probably not indicative of an entirely faulty tent. I'm looking forward to using it this fall!We put this up to cover 2 garden cupboards that I also bought, as I wasn't sure how waterproof they would be and didn't want the items in there to get water damaged over the 1 week period between having one shed removed and another one erected in its place.I'm very disappointed to see that whilst no water has come through, the fabric has maybe done too good a job and has allowed it to collect. This has placed weight on the roof stays which have then folded back in on themselves. In doing so, they have actually caused the stays that run along the sides of the roof canopy to become bent and twisted in places.I'm now going to have to contact Master Canopy about a replacement frame and possibly a roof, as part of it became trapped in the roof stays when they bent back in on themselves at the joints.Although the roof isn't torn it is all creased and you can see where the fabric has been compromised, which will no doubt be a weak point liable to letting water in at some point in the future.Also, I really wouldn't attempt to put this up on your own if you want to get the frame nice and lined up properly and fully extended without giving yourself a hernia!All in all I'm disappointed. I chose master canopy because I thought that the frames would be better quality than the lesser known brands for sale. I actually bought two of these but haven't even unboxed the 2nd one. I'm now wondering whether to bother or just sell it on.I ordered this to set up near a rented marquee for my daughters wedding party.Ordered through Amazon, very efficient service, got it delivered within few days, five stars to amazon.When opened found a hole on the white bag which contains the canopy, when setting up it took two persons as it is bit hard to lift, maybe its new. Slides are very good with zip and had no problems it stayed put with Halfords leg weights. Next day when I dismantled it I did by my self, no problem. During the night and early morning it had some dew on the roof, when dismantled I though the fabric and my fingers became wet, the fabric is very thin and you can see light if you see through it, I did not except this low quality material on the Master Cononpy.Well where to start?, delivery was fine from Amazon but then it goes wrong, firstly it takes 4 people to assemble and they need to be strong the slightest of breezes will push it over, trying to find replacement parts is nigh impossible (it blew over during a gale force wind with wind speeds of at least 1mph this caused one of the roof supports to snap) so all in all not very happy.Fantastic product. Instructions are a tiny bit unclear but when you look at the actual kit it’s easy to assemble - I did it myself and I’m a 5’2 woman. Completely waterproof, we had it in several heavy showers over the course of a whole day and nobody got wet. Comes with sandbags to make it extra sturdy. Lots of Velcro bits so if someone accidentally leans on the sides, it doesn’t rip. Easy to take down. Comes with a wheelie bag so you can transport it. Couldn’t recommend it more!
